Keynotes
What is this thing called Mindfulness? (Liana Taylor)
Mindfulness offers us a way to see that which is going on around and within us more clearly. Practising mindfulness offers us the opportunity to relate to our experience differently and live more effortlessly, more and more in the lightness of being. As we are increasingly able to pay attention with calmness, focus and kindness, we can respond in compassionate and constructive ways to ourselves and to others.

Building Mindful Relationships (Liana Taylor)
Being mindful allows us to create the emotional and mental space that supports us to nurture rich, heartfelt and joyful relationships. Being 'mindful' does not necessarily stop the daily dramas of life unfolding, but it does give us a different way to relate to the unexpected or unpleasant as they arise. Just as we become more mindful and relate differently within ourselves, so too we can cultivate new ways of relating to others when they behave in ways that we find unexpected or unpleasant. And as we relate differently to these dynamics, we open a whole vista of new options for those relationships.

Presentations
Mindful Parenting & Attachment Theory: An Introduction to the Mindful Awareness Parenting (MAP™) Program (Dr Rebecca Coleman PhD)
This session will cover how mindfulness, self-compassion and attachment theory interface to support professionals, parents and young children (from birth to 5 years of age). This session is primarily information based, but will also use short experiential exercises.

Core Elements of Mindful Parenting (Fiona Glover)
This presentation introduces participants to Seven Important Aspects of Mindful Parenting and the mechanisms of change brought about by mindful parenting in preventing and treating mental health problems in children, parenting difficulties, and preventing intergenerational transmission of mental health problems from parents to children.

Workshops
Five Strategies to Parenting Mindfully: An Introduction to the Mindfulness-Based Parenting Program (MBPP) (Fiona Glover)
This short workshop introduces participants to some “How To” strategies of Mindful Parenting which are explored more fully in the 8 week Mindfulness-Based Parenting Program (MBPP). Based on the traditional MBSR and MBCT programs, participants will learn how to adapt the attitudes of mindfulness, as well as the skills and strategies developed in these programs, to the valuable area of parenting, and to their work with children and families.

Time-In is the New Time-Out! (Dr Rebecca Coleman PhD)
This brief workshop provides an introduction to the theory and practice of using ‘time-in’ for relationship ruptures and disconnection with young children. It focuses on the importance of parenting self-compassion in times of emotional distress and perceived failure, and includes a self-compassion experiential exercise.
